Delhi-Faizabad Express derailed at Garhmukteshwar: 29 trains diverted, eight canceled

Hapur: Eight coaches of Delhi - Faizabad Express derailed on Sunday evening near Garhmukteshwar in area of Uttar Pradesh ' s Hapur in which more than 70 passengers injured. The twenty nine trains of this route were diverted and at least other trains cancelled due to this incident. .
The injured person was immediately sent to hospitals in Meerut, Ghaziabad and Hapur in buses. There were no reports of any casualty till now.
According to reports, the incident took place at around 9 pm today between Garhmukteshwar and Khandadhar stations of the Moradabad division.
The accident of Delhi-Faizabad Express (14206) occurred near the Ganga Bridge.
Meanwhile, the Northern Railway General Manager AK Puthia along with senior officials have rushed to the spot.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Indian Railways PRO, Anil Saxena said, “Traffic on both up and down line on Delhi-Moradabad section is affected.”
Accident Relief Trains were also dispatched to the site from Delhi and Moradabad.
Additional beds were made available at PL Sharma district hospital and Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial medical college for any possible emergency.

Traffic on both Up and Down lines on the Delhi-Moradabad section were affected due to the derailment. This resulted in a traffic build-up on NH-24, with many passengers opting to travel by road.
