Chemical factory blast in Dombivali near Mumbai; 4 dead, 100 injured

MUMBAI: A massive blast erupted by the boiler unit of a chemical factory in Dombivali, near Kalyan in Thane district of Mumbai state in which at least four people dead and more than 100 peoples have injured. The blast took place at Acharya Chemicals factory located in MIDC Phase 2 in Dombivali East, at least 50 kilometres from Mumbai city.
The blast was so massive that shock waves were felt in a radius of 3-4 kilometres from the place with many residents reporting that window panes of their homes and offices got shattered by its impact. According to report, many people are feared trapped under the debris even as fire fighters have begun rescue work on a war footing. Officials have sealed the immediate suburb of the factory and assured that rescue work is carried out unconfined. Meanwhile, the injured people  have been sent to the AIMS hospital located in Milap Nagar, Dombivali East. Hospital contact number: 0251-247 5001.
