UP Assembly elections 2017: SP MLA, BJP candidate booked for outstep model code of conduct

NEW DELHI: A BJP candidate and an SP MLA are set-aside for allegedly outstep the model code of conduct as they visited file their nomination papers with many supporters in vehicles, leading to traffic snarls in Amethi. BJP nominee Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh, a former MLA from Tiloi, and Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Rakesh Pratap Singh, the sitting MLA from Gauriganj assembly phase in Amethi district, filed their nominations in repective courts on the premises of collectorate at Gauriganj. Both the leaders found out district collectorate with many their followers that resulted in serious traffic jams on the roads of district headquarters. Amethi Superintendent of Police Anees Ansari same cases of outstep of model code conduct are filed against each the leaders. Four seats below Amethi parliamentary body fall in Amethi district and one in Raebareli.
