11 killed in stampede at Jharkhand Deoghar temple

Ranchi: Around 11 people were killed in a very stampede in Jharkhand ' s Deoghar town today, police said.
The incident occurred around 5 am when the devotees tried to break the queue and ran towards the temple.
"More than 1 lac people were in a very queue to supply prayers at a Shiva temple. All of an explosive some confusion prevailed and stampede passed off.
A minimum of 11 people were killed and over 50 are out of injured, the injured are being treated at a nearby hospital," a police official told IANS.
Deoghar is 300km from here.
During Shravani month of the Hindi calender, over 30 lac people provide prayers at the famed Baidyanath Temple. On Mondays, the quantity goes up considerably and around 1.5 to 2 lac people provides prayers.
According to eye-witnesses, stampede bust out when police resorted to lathi charge to manage the gang.
